McMonigle goes off on Giants after losing control of No. 1 overall pick

Chris McMonigle made it clear right away that he was not happy about the Giants beating the Colts on Sunday.

The players were happy, Brian Daboll was happy, and even some fans were happy, but C-Mac was livid that the team did so much losing all season, only to lose control of the No. 1 overall pick in the penultimate week of the regular season.

“To all you dopes out there, this is a miserable Monday,” C-Mac said. “Could it get any worse for a Giant fan, who just had their dreams of drafting a top quarterback...watching those two quarterbacks go at it, watching Jayden Daniels be a freaking superstar!

“We can say anything we want. And I know I’m not a player...I understand they play to win the game...but make no mistake, losing that game was in their best interest.”

Instead of picking first in the draft and having their choice of Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward, the Giants now slip to fourth overall, though things can change after Week 18. But for now, New York had a shot to finally own the top pick in the draft, and a meaningless win has changed everything.

“I’m not angry at the Giants for winning the football game...I’m not mad that they played well,” C-Mac said. “I’m mad that they played so poorly for so freaking long, that the season was dead in October. That they have been a miserable football team all year long...they have been an absolute dumpster fire for weeks. Ten losses in a row. Ineptitude. Disaster. Disgusting...and at the end of the year, when it’s finally starting to come to fruition that they might get a first overall pick, and they might get a quarterback that can turn this franchise around.

“This is when you decide to play good football, after all the crap you’ve put me through? And people are telling me I should be pleased with it?! That the Giants got their third win of the season in Week 17??”
