Evan Neal ripped Giants fans in an interview with NJ.com, telling Darryl Slater, “Why would a lion concern himself with the opinion of a sheep? The person that’s commenting on my performance, what does he do? Flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere?”
Shaun Morash reacted to the story live, and he wasn’t happy with the struggling offensive lineman.
“F this guy,” Shaun said. “Not for nothing Evan Neal…the bottom line is this. We as fans have suffered through arguably the worst offensive line play for the better part of a decade. The Giants used a top-10 pick on you…and we were very patient through one year of his struggles, because we saw Andrew Thomas struggle. But we have seen first-round picks like Eric Flowers bust out. We are trying out best to give patience to anybody drafted by Joe Schoen.
“To not have the understanding that, frankly, your play through two years of your career sucks and is unacceptable, and that we can’t see that because we might be flipping hot dogs and hamburgers, but we don’t have two freaking eyes, spare me.”
Evan said it may have been the most “tone deaf” remark ever made by a New York athlete, and Shaun was clearly in agreement.
“Evan Neal, your play has been trash. I don’t care if any of us hasn’t stepped foot on a football field,” Shaun said. “So zip your mouth and learn how to block.”
