Shaun Morash says Monday’s loss to the Eagles is all the proof Giants fans should need that the team’s top priority should now be to bring in the next franchise quarterback.

“The difference between these two teams, and between the Giants and the elite teams, is the quarterback position,” Morash said. “The Giants need a quarterback with an elite ceiling. Let’s stop the madness. The quarterback position is the great equalizer in the league.

“Until they figure out the quarterback position and bring in a potential franchise quarterback with a high ceiling…can we finally admit the right head coach is here, the right building blocks of a roster are here…getting an elite quarterback here, that was the Christmas message.”

The Jets went the trade route to bring in a proven veteran as their answer at quarterback, but Morash says Big Blue should look to find their next quarterback in the draft.

“The Giants have to take a swing on a quarterback in this draft,” Morash said. “Monday was the end stamp of that has to happen. If you’re sitting there at five and Joe Schoen is caught with his pants down, shame on him. If he’s got to trade up, like the Bills did with Josh Allen, then you trade up. I am tired of beating around the bush. The best way to become an elite franchise in the NFL remains hitting on a franchise quarterback.”
