Morash goes scorched earth on 'disgusting embarrassment' in Giants season opener
Shaun Morash was on the air immediately after Giants postgame coverage, and he promptly went off on Big Blue’s disastrous loss to the Vikings in Week 1, which he coined “The Century Red Wedding” as the team’s 100th anniversary celebration was spoiled in spectacular fashion.
“What an utter freaking disgusting embarrassment that was,” Morash said. “How could they? How dare they? How could they look so bad After a summer of attacking down the field in training camp? How could they look so bad on a pass rush after hearing how much Brian Burns with Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeaux? How could they do that against that quarterback?
“There’s no way to sugarcoat it. This was worse than what we had in Week 1 last year when the game was 40-0 against the Dallas Cowboys…this was Sam Darnold!”
Morash was hopeful that the Giants would be “spunky” in 2024, and at least give some fight and be in the hunt down the stretch of the regular season, but after watching Sunday’s blowout loss, it’s hard not to feel like the season could be already slipping away.
“They put out the most disgusting tape and the most disgusting effort a Giant fan could stomach and swallow in the first freaking week of September!” Morash said.
“I am disheartened. I am disenchanted. I can’t believe the pool cover isn’t even on and I feel like another season has been taken from me.”
