Daniel Jones had another visit with a specialist on Monday for his neck injury, and after the meeting, is reportedly expected to be sidelined once again this weekend.
According to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, the Giants quarterback is not expected to be cleared to play in Week 15 against the Cowboys, and remains in a week-to-week situation with the neck strain he suffered against the Eagles on Nov. 28. Jones remained in that game in what was a win for New York, but hasn’t seen the field or been cleared for contact since.
Jones, along with Giants senior vice president of medical services Ronnie Barnes, traveled back to New York on Monday to undergo the follow-up tests, while the rest of the Giants stayed back in Los Angeles following their blowout loss to the Chargers.
The Giants have remained cloudy on what exactly is the extent of Jones’ injury, in part because they are still trying to figure out themselves. There have been reports of structural damage in the quarterback’s neck, and it looks like Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm will be under center come Sunday.
