The Giants appear to be keeping one of their veteran offensive lineman.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, New York has agreed to a restructured deal with Nate Solder, the team’s 32-year-old tackle. The two sides are still working out the exact terms of the deal, but Solder appears to be staying put.
The Giants, faced with difficult decisions while up against the salary cap, released one of their most experienced offensive lineman earlier this week in Kevin Zeitler, the oldest member of the team’s unit. He had started every game for New York over the past two seasons.
Solder opted out of last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but expressed a desire to return to the Giants. He carried a $16.5 million cap hit into this season, and has likely taken a pay cut to remain in East Rutherford. Details of how much of a pay cut he accepted are not yet known.
