Saquon Barkley wiped his Twitter bio of any mention of the Giants amid frustrations of not agreeing to a new contract before Monday’s deadline.

Barkley has said sitting out games is a tactic he could use, though he hasn’t decided on anything, but he clearly does not love the idea of playing under the franchise tag, as he is seeking more security and guaranteed money.

Sal doesn’t like the social media scrubbing, but he does believe that Barkley has a right to be frustrated, and that it will likely lead to the star running back sitting out games.

“That is immature. That is childish things we’ve seen some of these athletes do,” Sal said. “I don’t think it’s a healthy thing to do, but maybe it is something.

“I do think Barkley is hurt, and I do think Barkley is going to sit out some games for the Giants. Not the whole year, but I believe Barkley will hold out some games for the Giants. I have to believe all the frustration you felt from Saquon Barkley, I have to believe he’s going to take a little bit of a stand here.”

Sal still believes Barkley will play this season, but at this point, he sees it being an abbreviated season as Barkley looks to make a point.

“I don’t know if it’s one week, two weeks, three weeks, six weeks, whatever,” Sal said. “He’ll come back, because he wants to get paid, but he’s gotta make the Giants feel the pain to a certain extent.”
