With two days to go before the season begins, Saquon Barkley appears to be on track to start Week 1 against the Broncos.
But he still won’t give an inch when asked whether that is a certainty at this point.
“I guess we’ll see,” Barkley told reporters on Friday. “I'm gonna go in there, sit down [with the coaches and training staff] and say, ‘I'm gonna do whatever the team needs me to do.’”
“If they feel like it's ready for me to go, I'm ready to go.”
Head coach Joe Judge told reporters that barring any “unforeseen” setbacks, Barkley should be a go against Denver, and Barkley said he got through Friday’s practice without any setbacks.

Having cleared that latest hurdle, it appears Sunday will be Barkley’s first game back from a torn ACL since Week 2 of last season.
Questions over Barkley’s availability will remain until Sunday afternoon, but that’s something Barkley has been dealing with since Giants camp opened months ago.
“I’ve been having that pretty much all summer,” Barkley said. “But I guess fantasy football is a big thing and I guess it’s a big topic, but for me, I’m just going to continue to come out here and take it one day at a time and enjoy being able to play football with my teammates”
