Saquon Barkley’s revenge season has now culminated in another 1,000-yard rushing season.
The Giants running back eclipsed the landmark on New York’s opening drive of Sunday’s game against the Commanders, running for five yards to give him exactly 1,000 on the season, and he surpassed that mark on the next drive.
Barkley was a 1,000-yard rusher in each of the first two seasons of his career, but ran for just over 600 in the next two years combined due to an ACL injury and a season afterward in which he clearly was not at 10 percent following surgery.
This season has been much different, as Barkley’s resurgence has helped the Giants become one of the surprises of the NFL this season, and battling for a playoff spot.
