Saquon Barkley perked up the ears of Evan and Tiki on Monday when he posted on X (formerly known as Twitter,) “Nothing like playoff football! I gotta get back!”
Evan’s translation of the post? Barkley wants out of New York.
“He’s gone,” Evan said. “If the Giants allow him to get to free agency, he’s going to leave.
That sounds like a guy - and I don’t mean any disrespect to the Giants - that sounds like a guy who is like ‘If the Chiefs are interested, I’m out. If the Bills are interested, see you later.’
“I think, as a competitor, he’s fed up with not being competitive. He’s had one season of a winning record with the Giants.”
Tiki believes Barkley cherishes being a Giant, but agrees that he might be done with the off-the-field side effects of playing in New York, as well as the uncertainty of his future due to the franchise tag.
“It just feels like Saquon is at the point - I don’t want to say he’s tired of New York, but I think he’s tired of the drama of New York,” Tiki said. “He’s fed up with the drama of not getting a long-term deal.”
