Tiki Barber shares an agent with Lawrence Taylor, that being Mark Lepselter, and Tiki broke some big news involving LT and one of the newest Giants on Friday: Abdul Carter could wear No. 56 with Big Blue?
“I have it on pretty good authority that the conversation is already happening,” Tiki revealed. “Abdul Carter is represented by Drew Rosenhaus, and Drew has been in the game for a long time. Lep's been in the game for a long time, particularly representing LT over a myriad of things over the years, and they're likely making something happen here. We'll see.”
Tiki doesn’t know any details or how real the conversations are, but ‘it’s not an absurd suggestion” this could happen.
“I don't think he would have said that, Abdul Carter, unless this had a little bit of weight given to it from people who know,” Tiki said. “Lep is a wheeler and dealer in the industry, so we’ll find out.”
Carter, who wore No. 11 at Penn State – that choice itself a nod to former dominant Nittany Lion defender Micah Parsons – said after being selected third overall on Thursday that “56 looks real good” when discussing his future number, and Taylor is someone he emulated.
“Yeah, LT the G.O.A.T., somebody I look up to, somebody I study and one of the greatest players of all time,” Carter said. “Just want to follow in his footsteps, just bring dominance back to New York.”
