Gio said on Wednesday’s Morning Show that Daniel Jones is likely loathing the hype and success of Tommy DeVito, but C-Mac believes that couldn’t be further from reality.
“This is a blessing for Daniel Jones,” C-Mac said. “You think Daniel Jones is upset the Giants are winning football games and less likely to draft a quarterback?
“Daniel Jones is celebrating today. Daniel Jones is thrilled with Tommy DeVito winning football games.”
The more games DeVito wins, the further the Giants fall in next year’s draft order, which C-Mac says makes it less and less likely that they will draft a quarterback, which makes it more likely that Jones will remain the quarterback of the future in New York.
“Daniel Jones is possibly looking at two different scenarios: battling Tommy DeVito for a starting position, or battling a top first-round pick for his position,” C-Mac said. “If they draft a quarterback in the top five, he can’t win the competition. It’s over. He plays next year, and then he leaves.
“With Tommy DeVito playing well enough to win games…and take them out of the sweepstakes for the top echelon of quarterbacks…now all he has to do is beat out Tommy DeVito…and considering he has the contract, he has the edge in the competition. This is the best thing that could have happened for Daniel Jones. Bar none.”
