C-Mac is tired of hearing all of the blame for the Giants’ offensive woes be placed on the offensive line, especially when backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor had the offense looking slightly improved on Sunday night against the Bills.
“We understand the offensive line is not very good, but at the same time, you gotta be able to function a little bit,” C-Mac said. “I can’t put the full extent of the absolute ineptitude solely on the offensive line. They have a lot of it, but they haven’t scored a first half touchdown…they don’t function.
“People want to absolve Daniel Jones from blame…I don’t think that’s fair. Suddenly, Taylor doesn’t get sacked, throws the football down the field, makes the offense look better than it has, and it’s that the offensive line played well. OK.”
C-Mac says Daniel Jones needs to take more of the blame, and his new contract will make it harder to solve those problems at the line of scrimmage.
“It’s $40 million you’re paying your quarterback. Fix the offensive line? It’s a lot tougher when you’re paying your quarterback $40 million,” C-Mac said. “There’s gonna be a conversation about restructuring his contract, because they’re gonna have to. Good luck spreading that money around when $40 million goes to a quarterback who needs an offensive line to do anything.”
