Boomer & Gio: What would it take this season for John Mara to shake up Giants regime once again?

As the Giants prepare for what they hope is a bounceback season, Gio wonders what it would take for the owner to shake things up and break apart the Joe Schoen/Brian Daboll regime.

“John Mara has to have expectations going into this year,” Gio said. “Stability has not been the Giants’ thing. They have moved on from guys, whether its three years or four years, bang. If it’s not working, it’s over.”

Whether it be Joe Judge or Brian McAdoo, there has not been much stability for the Giants on the leadership front, but Boomer believes Mara is trying to operate differently this time around, and says Schoen and Daboll will be back for a fourth season unless the upcoming campaign goes completely sideways.

“It seems like to me that they want to be stable,” Boomer said. “Unless something catastrophic happens - if they win seven or eight games, I think they’ll stay another year. I think they would keep these guys, even with Bill Belichick out there.

“They would have to have an absolute disaster of a season.”
