Jerry Recco had a long night on Wednesday, calling the Rutgers men’s basketball game in Indiana before hurrying back to New York to do Monday’s show. Meanwhile, Gio took in some of the Knicks-76ers game before turning in.

Gio would have liked to watch more of Jerry’s game, and is fed up with the NBA product.

“I know this isn’t some sort of revelation these days, but just watching what happened out in Indiana with Rutgers, watching some of these buzzer-beaters that you guys have had…college basketball is so much better of a product right now than the NBA, and it’s not even close,” Gio said.

Jerry, who had watched Ron Harper Jr. bury a go-ahead 3-pointer to stun the Hoosiers with just seconds left on the clock only hours earlier, wholeheartedly agreed.

“I’ve said for a while,” Jerry said. “Until you get to the playoffs…the NBA is a bad product in the regular season. I agree with you. This college stuff…it is non-stop. The regular season games, the kids fighting for their lives, and it’s so much better than the NBA these days.”

Gio watched some of the biggest stars in the NBA in James Harden and Joel Embiid while the Scarlet Knights were battling with Indiana, but he has found himself tuning in to more college ball these days, and right on time with March Madness just around the corner.

“James Harden is just an impossible basketball player to watch…it’s not enjoyable,” Gio said. “I’m watching more random college basketball games and getting into that this time of year than this.”
