The Islanders officially announced the signings of multiple contributors from last season, inking Anthony Beauvillier, Casey Cizikas, Kyle Palmieri, and Ilya Sorokin to multi-year deals.
Beauvillier has been one of the team’s top offensive contributors since debuting as a 19-year-old in the 2016-17 season, and scored 28 points in 47 games last season before contributing 13 points on five goals and eight assists in New York’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Cizikas logged 14 points in the regular season last year and five in the postseason. The former fourth-round pick is already 20th on the franchise leaderboard in games played with the team.
Palmieri was acquired in a midseason trade with the Devils last season, and wasted no time making an impact by scoring two goals in the team’s playoff opener against the Penguins, including the game-winner in overtime. The New York native has netted over 20 goals in five of the last six seasons.
Sorokin put together an impressive rookie season last year, logging a .918 save percentage while allowing an average of 2.17 goals per game. Combined with Semyon Varlamov, the two posted the second-lowest team goals-against average in the NHL.
