Nassau Coliseum was rocking when the Islanders clinched a series win over the Penguins in game six on Wednesday night, and when the team returns for games three and four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the place will be a lot louder.

The Islanders announced on Friday that the capacity for all home games of the team’s upcoming series against the Bruins will be increased to 12 thousand, up from roughly nine thousand in the first round. Tickets for all three home games go on sale Friday afternoon, starting with season ticket holders only.

“Throughout this season and the playoffs, tickets have sold out quickly to Season Ticket Members, and we expect that trend to continue,” Michael Cosentino, Senior Vice President of Sales and Service said in a statement. “We are excited to host a full arena in round two, as we are now over 95% sold out of season tickets at UBS Arena, demand for Islanders tickets continues to grow.”

Given the increased capacity, all fans attending games will be required to provide proof of full vaccination, with children 16 years or younger can sit in a fully vaccinated section with a negative COVID-19 test result.

“In an effort to maximize capacity for our second round series against the Boston Bruins, while respecting current New York state regulations, there will be a particular focus on fully vaccinated sections,” team president and general manager Lou Lamoriello said in a statement. “This plan will allow us to create the loudest possible atmosphere in the National Hockey League.”

The atmosphere was memorable earlier this week, when the Islanders clinched a playoff series on the Nassau Coliseum ice for the first time since 1993. This will be the team’s final playoff run in the building before moving to UBS Arena next season.

The second round series kicks off Saturday night at 8 p.m.
