UNIONDALE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — The New York Islanders will be able to welcome more fans at Nassau Coliseum during the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
For home games, 50% of tickets will be sold to vaccinated fans, who will be required to maintain three feet of distance in their designated section.
Vaccinated fans will be required to provide proof of their full COVID-19 immunization status.
According to the governor's office, "Young adults and children under the age of 16 who are not yet eligible for the vaccine may accompany and be seated with a vaccinated adult in a fully vaccinated section so long as they have received a recent negative COVID-19 test result."
The remaining 50% of the sales will go to unvaccinated fans, who must remain six feet apart in their section.
All attendees will be required to wear a mask regardless of their vaccination status.
"The Islanders have always been Long Island's team, and this new measure to increase capacity will allow more of the team's passionate fan base to enjoy the final games at the Coliseum and help reenergize the team as they head into the playoffs," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement.
Islanders playoff tickets go on sale Tuesday.
