The Islanders placed four players on the COVID-19 list on Monday, and now, the team’s game against the Red Wings on Wednesday has been postponed, with no makeup date yet announced.

New York made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon, a day after announcing that Anthony Beauvillier, Cal Clutterbuck, Zach Parise, and Oliver Wahlstrom had all been added to the NHL’s health and safety protocols list.

The Islanders are just two days removed from being able to practice for the first time since the NHL’s extended Christmas break, which was lengthened due to surging COVID cases across the league.

New York hasn’t played since Dec. 19, a shootout loss to the Golden Knights. Its next scheduled game is on Thursday night at home against the Sabres.
