Jerry & C-Lo: How do Giants, Jets finally 'get rid of the stink' around both teams?

As the miserable New York football season approaches its conclusion, the narrative around the Giants and Jets are clear.

For Big Blue, it's about picking the right quarterback. For the Jets, it's about making the right hires to replace Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh.

But for Jerry Recco, those refrains have been heard before, and it simply won't matter until these two teams finally get it right.

"What do you do, finally, to get rid of the stink from these two programs?" Jerry said. "It always comes back to the same phrase: you gotta get it right this time. Will they get it right this time?"

The Giants drafted a quarterback sixth overall in Daniel Jones, and it didn't work out. The Jets have made several new hires over the past decade, and none have worked out. Something new doesn't mean guaranteed change, but for Big Blue, if they keep their current hold on the No. 1 pick, at least some of the uncertainty gets removed.

"If you're put into that spot, as unfortunate as it is, they have no choice but to take the swing," Jerry said. "It doesn't matter who the head coach or GM is when you're at the top and taking a quarterback. Really, it's one of two guys."

C-Lo agrees that getting the top pick could go a long way in changing the tides around the Giants, but if and when that pick is made, the pressure will be ratcheted right back up come Week 1, as fans will then want to see tangible evidence that the Giants finally made the right pick.

"At least there is some hope at the end of the road, because what you've seen the last couple years with the Giants, they've given us next to nothing to feel good about," C-Lo said. "If they get their hands on one of these quarterbacks, it's something to be hopeful about heading into the season."
