Aaron Rodgers is still not backing down from his goal of returning to the Jets this season.
In fact, he is now eyeing a return in nearly a month.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback told NBC’s Melissa Stark that his goal is to return to play in mid-December, which would be a remarkable recovery time for a 39-year-old who underwent Achilles surgery just two months ago. Rodgers lasted just four snaps in his Jets debut before suffering a torn Achilles in Week 1.
Rodgers has since raved about his recovery process, and has been taking light dropbacks and throwing passes on the field before Jets games in recent weeks.
The four-time MVP has said he would return if the Jets were still alive in the playoff hunt, which they are despite another frustrating loss on Sunday night.
But the Jets offense looks dead behind Zach Wilson, once again failing to produce a touchdown on Sunday against the Raiders.
The Jets play in Miami on Dec. 17, then home against the Commanders on Christmas Eve.
