As confetti fell at MetLife Stadium during the last of Taylor Swift’s three sellout concerts over the holiday weekend, Aaron Rodgers imagined the confetti rain was to celebrate a long-awaited Super Bowl title for the Jets.
Rodgers, in attendance at the concert, was seen on video shouting “The Jets won the Super Bowl!” as the confetti fell down on his head.
Rodgers already is dreaming of what it would be like to bring the franchise its second Super Bowl title ever in his first season with the team, though he had been dreaming of that scenario since well before the concert. At his introductory press conference, Rodgers told reporters that he noticed New York’s Super Bowl III trophy was looking “lonely” in the trophy case when he first made his entrance into Gang Green’s facility.
The Jets will begin their quest for that Super Bowl title in just over three months, and head coach Robert Saleh says his group, led by Rogers, is one of “6-8 teams” in the league that have an actual chance of winning it all.
