Aaron Rodgers has responded to the CNN report that he privately said the Sandy Hook tragedy was an inside job by the government, and the children that were tragically killed, and the grieving family members after the horrific event, were actors.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Jets quarterback refuted the idea that he ever believed the tragic killing of 20 people didn’t actually happen.
“As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy,” Rodgers posted. “I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place. Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community.”
Rodgers said on a local radio station near Green Bay at the time of the tragedy that he hoped the nation “learned” from the devastating events at Sandy Hook. His post says that he maintains those same sentiments today, despite CNN’s recent report of comments he made years ago.
