Boomer & Gio: Will NFL start to flex Jets out of primetime games?

The Jets will be under the primetime lights on Sunday, one of several primetime games that were scheduled once Aaron Rodgers was brought into the fold.

But, now that Rodgers is done for the year and the team is struggling with Zach Wilson, Gio wonders when the team will start to get flexed out of primetime.

“If they don’t start flexing out all of these Jets games, I would be shocked,” Gio said. “There is no way in hell that some of these primetime games the jets have coming up are actually going to stay there.”

After Sunday, Gang Green is back under the lights against the Chargers in Week 9 for Monday Night Football. According to the NFL website, Monday night games can’t be flexed until Week 12, so they are locked in for Week 9. Then, Gang Green faces the Raiders on Sunday Night Football the football in Week 10, which is eligible to be flexed. Their final primetime game will be Week 17 against the Browns on Thursday Night Football, it is also eligible to be flexed.

Gio expects the eligible games to be flexed, especially if Wilson continues to lead a dormant offense and the team slides into irrelevancy.
