Boomer's Hard Knocks review: Should have been called 'The Aaron Rodgers Show,' but that's OK

Al Hughes’ review of the season premiere of Hard Knocks was, “freaking boring.”

Boomer’s was slightly more positive, though he did acknowledge that the behind-the-scenes show about the 2023 Jets was more like “The Aaron Rodgers Show.”

But, as Boomer stated, could you blame HBO for taking that route in the premiere episode?

“That’s what HBO should have done,” Boomer said. “That’s all we’ve been talking about for the last six months.

“I see a guy who is very motivated, is actually very funny, you can see how smart he is, and you can see he knows everything that’s going on around him.”

The first episode was certainly Rodgers-centric, and Boomer hopes subsequent episodes will venture away from the future Hall of Famer, and focus on the intricacies of Mekhi Becton and the offensive line, and highlight more of the defense as well. But overall, he was a fan of the anticipated premiere.

“I thought it was a really great opening night,” Boomer said. “As a Jet fan, you had to love it.”
