As reports swirl that Aaron Rodgers talked with the Jets on Monday, Boomer is convinced that the future Hall of Famer will end up in New York next season.

“I’ve believed that all along, especially after what I told you two and a half weeks ago what it would take to get Aaron Rodgers here and what he would have to agree to in terms of a salary,” Boomer said. “I think it is a real, real possibility, and I think Nathaniel Hackett knows something that the rest of us don’t know.

“It’s gonna be Aaron Rodgers. I’m sure they have a fallback plan if it doesn’t work, but I really feel it’s trending towards Aaron Rodgers.”

That would be best-case scenario for the majority of Jets fans, especially after Derek Carr signed with the Saints on Monday, and with a seemingly steep dropoff among potential quarterbacks after Rodgers. But Boomer has a feeling that Gang Green won’t have to worry about backup options.

“Nobody has told me anything,” Boomer said. “I’m just saying I believe he is going to be the quarterback of the Jets next season.”
