Sauce Gardner’s post on X (formerly known as Twitter) caught plenty of attention on Tuesday when replying with the names Calvin Ridley and Tee Higgins to a post asking which free agents the Jets should sign that nobody is talking about.
It is hardly the most controversial social media post a Jets player has posted in recent years, but Boomer and Gio agree that it is more unnecessary drama that the coaching staff should have put a stop to a long time ago.
“This one is innocent, but still unnecessary,” Gio said. “I don’t think this one is as harmful as some of the other Jets drama, but it’s still unnecessary.”
Boomer agreed, and doesn’t think it goes over well with other receivers in the room that will be back next season.
“You’re basically, as a defensive back, saying, ‘we need more wide receivers.’ What if a wide receiver said, ‘we need more defensive backs’?” Boomer said. “It doesn’t go over well with your teammates, people that may be wearing the same uniform.
“It just creates unnecessary drama.”
