Robert Saleh told reporters that he wouldn’t rule anything out when it comes to potentially going back to Zach Wilson at quarterback next week, and Boomer says they should, and just let the former No. 2 overall pick sling it.
“I would throw Zach out there and let him throw 50 times,” Boomer said. “Honestly, just let him go out there and throw it. See if he can do it.”
Boomer still doesn’t see Wilson having a future in New York, but if he is given plenty of changes to make throws and make plays, and succeeds to a degree, perhaps they can get something from him in a potential trade while his value would be theoretically higher than what it was when he was benched in favor of Tim Boyle.
“Not for you, but maybe you showcase him for someone else who is willing to give up a fourth or fifth-round draft choice for him, if they could even get that,” Boomer said.
“Why not? At this point, the season is over.”
