Gio says the heat is turning up on the Jets brass as another season is lost.
“This Rob Saleh/Joe Douglas/Nathaniel Hackett, after they benched Zach Wilson,” Gio said. “The flames were turned up on all their asses.”
Still, Boomer isn’t expecting any changes, simply because ownership will likely let the current regime give it another go with a hopefully healthy Aaron Rodgers next season.
“I don’t believe anybody is going to be fired from the Jets,” Boomer said. “I think they’re gonna bring the whole thing back with Aaron Rodgers, because Rodgers made him a two-year commitment.
“You can call for it, you can scream about it, you can talk about Robert Saleh’s record…but they also went out and got Aaron Rodgers for a reason.”
But beyond Rodgers, there is a gaping hole at the quarterback position, so it better work next year.
“It’s the worst quarterback situation in the NFL. Maybe New England is worse,” Boomer said. “There is no future right now. The future is standing on the sidelines with an Achilles injury, and that’s the immediate future.”
