Boomer sees Jets giving Zach Wilson two more weeks, but season could be dead by then

Boomer believes that the Jets give Zach Wilson two more weeks, and if he doesn’t show any signs of improvement against the Patriots and Chiefs, it will be time for a change.

“Something has to happen. Something will have to happen,” Boomer said. “If they want to save their season, and I don’t even know if it’s possible to save their season at that point.

“This is the worst-case scenario for what happened here…everything has been accelerated, and you have to hope, in the short time that he was here, that Aaron had a positive effect on Zach.”

In his first start of the season against the Cowboys, it didn’t seem like Rodgers had much of an impact on Wilson, who threw three interceptions down the stretch. If that trend continues over the next two weeks, Boomer believes a new quarterback will have to start.

“These interceptions in the fourth quarter…he’s gotta somehow get this decision making - somehow, they gotta untie it, and he needs to play freely and make those decisions so the coaches can trust him,” Boomer said.

“I personally think they give him the next couple games.”
