BT believes that the Jets’ offensive struggles with Tim Boyle only further highlight that Zach Wilson was done dirty by the franchise, that the offense’s stagnancy was much more due to poor coaching and playcalling than it was Wilson being terrible.
So, BT would like to see the Jets go back to the former No. 2 overall pick.
“They really need to,” BT said. “They need to…I don’t think they have the stomach for it.”
Sal isn’t sure if they can go back after moving him to third-string quarterback, but he is sure that benching him when they did, only to go to Boyle, was a mistake.
“They should have pulled him weeks ago,” Sal said. “They should have been better prepared for this. They waited and waited, then they pull him when it’s too late, for Timmy Boyle, who is even worse. At that point, the best decision is, just stick with Zach. You’re in too deep. You screwed up already. Don’t compound it with another mistake, and they did.”
