Robert Saleh isn’t the only Jet keeping receipts.
Rookie Breece Hall hasn’t forgotten slipping into the second round of this year’s NFL Draft, and is out to remind every team of the mistake they made by going elsewhere with their first-round selections.
“I definitely took some receipts,” Hall said. “Definitely.”
Hall enjoyed a breakout game against the Dolphins last weekend, and is part of a promising rookie core for the Jets that has the team off to a 3-2 start. Hall was still the first running back taken in the draft, but that’s not enough. He hasn’t forgotten slipping into the second round, and doesn’t want any teams forgetting that they could have had him.
Still, that doesn’t mean he isn’t happy with where he wound up.
“It sucked, but I’m here for a reason,” Hall said. “It was a blessing to be here with this great draft class, but I definitely want to prove every week why I should have been a first-round pick and why I was worthy of that.
“That’s a little internal motivation, for sure.”
