As waves of media swarm the Jets practice facility on Tuesday to get a first look at Aaron Rodgers in a Gang Green helmet, BT says it marks the start of what will become one of the best individual seasons the city has ever seen.
“I think Aaron Rodgers is about to author one of the greatest New York sports seasons of all time,” BT said.
Of course, there are plenty of competitors for that mantle. Aaron Judge just hit 62 home runs and won an MVP last year, while Mickey Mantle won a Triple Crown for the Yanks. Tom Seaver was otherworldly for the Mets in 1971, Martin Brodeur had historic seasons in net for the Devils, and the Giants have Lawrence Taylor’s decorated 1986 campaign.
But BT says Rodgers will join that group in 2023, and there will be plenty to witness it, as the future Hall of Famer has made the Jets the biggest story in the NFL.
“Florham Park today is the center of the football universe. Aaron Rodgers, with all the cameras…and right now, it is not the Chiefs, it is not Dallas, it is not Philly,” BT said. “The Jets right now are the NFL’s biggest story, the biggest attraction, the most marquee team.
“The expectations are absolutely astronomical. The coverage, whether it’s going to be good or bad, is going to be omnipresent, and they’re the highest profile team in the NFL.”
