BT ripped Robert Saleh to open Monday’s show, but neither he nor Sal are giving the general manager a pass anymore either.
Both BT and Sal called out Joe Douglas for putting together a roster that seems like it would not fare much better if Aaron Rodgers never got hurt, as was the assumption earlier in the season. After another blowout loss to the Dolphins, it seems as if the roster is littered with holes.
“If you don’t make money on the investment, what the hell good are you?” BT said. “We keep saying ‘Joe is good at this.’ If you don’t win, what good are you?
“What good are you as a general manager if you don’t construct a team that ever gets to the playoffs? What are we talking about, Sal?”
Sal had no disagreements, and believes at some point, the lack of results has to outweigh some successful draft picks that have been made in recent years. Douglas has now been at the helm for an even 80 games across five seasons in New York, and holds a 25-55 record, and seemingly is en route for a fourth straight season with double digit losses.
“I like Joe Douglas, but he may be a better scout than he is a general manager,” Sal said. “You have to hire someone who has had success before and can get this thing cleaned up.”
