Pretty blunt words from Connor Hughes on the Jets’ 2024 realities today with BT & Sal:
“They've made it clear that they know this is do or die, that if they don't do it this year, no matter who gets hurt, no matter what, they are going to blow it up, and then it will be a complete fresh start,” Hughes said. “If Rodgers struggles, he won’t be back next year, so it would be a brand new quarterback, likely Top 10 draft pick, new GM and head coach, and they are truly going to start from scratch and move on from this regime.”
He also said, though, ‘they're just willing to see this through,’ and there’s a reason Woody Johnson committed to another year of Robert Saleh and trying again with Aaron Rodgers.
“You think that the big pool of people that would be wanting to get involved with this team and this coaching staff, it dwindles when you go, okay, you gotta keep Aaron Rodgers, and find someone that works with it and an offense that works with Aaron Rodgers,” Hughes said. “That dwindles it, and oh yeah, it's pretty much a win now season.”
