BT & Sal go off on ‘ass backwards’ Jets after Davante Adams trade: ‘Won’t solve anything’

The Jets responded to Monday’s frustrating loss to the Bills by reportedly making a splash for Davante Adams.

The star wide receiver is coming to New York for a third-round pick that could become a second, with Gang Green reportedly taking on all of Adams’ remaining contract, which includes a salary of over $36 million next season and in 2026.

The reaction from BT and Sal was hardly one of excitement given the Jets current standing at 2-4 with an offense that continues to struggle scoring touchdowns, and continues to be burned by penalties.

“You know what my reaction is? Too late,” BT said. “I honestly don’t even care. I know it’s not too late, but it feels too late.

“I don’t even care. It was a week too late. You could have used him last night. Everybody knew he was gonna get traded, and now, the game that defines their season…last night was the night for Davante Adams to be in green and white. They’re so ass backwards! Everything they do is ass backwards!”

Adams was long considered a top Jets target given his ties to Aaron Rodgers, but Sal agrees that the move won’t save the Jets in this all-in season, and will just go down as a short sighted move for a “past his prime” receiver that will only hold the Jets back in the long run.

“He’s not gonna solve anything,” Sal said. “This is so predictable…you’re 2-4 and you’re a dysfunctional mess. A wide receiver past his prime is not going to solve it.”

“Great, they’ll get him, he’ll make plays I guess, and they’ll lose by a point,” BT said. “What are we doing here?”
