BT is done with Aaron Rodgers experiment, but Sal wants Jets to take another crack at it
Aaron Rodgers told reporters on Wednesday that he plans on returning in 2025, despite the nightmare season he and the Jets are currently enduring, and Rodgers’ diminished play at 40-plus years of age.
Sal Licata says that is what would be best for the Jets, as he believes the problem has been the Jets and the pieces around Rodgers more than Rodgers himself, but BT says the “Hail Mary” that is the Rodgers experiment has fallen incomplete, and it’s time to move on.
“I don’t need Aaron Rodgers next year, because he’s no longer Aaron Rodgers,” BT said. “He is a decaying, eroding legend who did all of his greatness somewhere else. He tried his best. I don’t want to destroy the guy, but it’s over. It’s been a colossal failure.
“From Super Bowl expectations to people being fired, and the Jets looking for win number four hopefully before Thanksgiving…I don’t want to say it’s all Aaron’s fault, but I don’t think he’s helped it the way I thought he would.”
BT pointed out that it has been over 30 games since Rodgers has thrown for over 300 yards, and it is becoming clear that he simply doesn’t have it anymore. Add to that the fact that Rodgers hasn’t had a part in changing the culture like BT thought he would, so it would be better to move on sooner than later and not try to do it all again in 2025.
“I’m ready to move on from Aaron Rodgers,” BT said. “There has to be a better option, because he doesn’t win.”
