With Tim Boyle getting the start over Zach Wilson on Friday, the Jets offense didn’t look any better than it had when Wilson replaced the injured Aaron Rodgers.
BT says that only shows that the Jets failed Wilson, not the other way around.
“A kid who they took second overall, they banished him to the third spot,” BT said. “Tim Boyle stunk…every pass he threw was a yard and a half in the air.
“As much as this season has destroyed me, I am happy that Tim Boyle and eventually, if it’s Trevor Siemian, they’re gonna look equally, if not more, inept than Zach,” BT said. “It proves what I said forever. It ain’t Zach. It’s everyone else, and everything else.”
BT was a believer in Wilson for much of his time as the starter this season, but was ready to try something new by the time he was benched. Now, he is back in Wilson’s corner after seeing the alternative, and believes the blame should be on the front office for not beefing up the offense around the quarterback position.
“I expected a more functional offense,” BT said. “If the other things were done better, the offense would have looked better. You were supposed to fix the offensive line, and you didn’t fix it.”
