BT has been riding the Jets hype train for weeks, and has not hid his confidence that Gang Green will take down the rival Giants on Sunday.
To open Friday’s show, BT declared that the Jets would get payback for 2011 and the Victor Cruz debacle, and, for the first time in a long time, take control of New York.
“The Jets have a chance this Sunday to not just get revenge and end the Giants season, but they’ve got a chance to take over the city,” BT said. “This is about the city. This is about snatching the Giants soul. This is about ending their season, and catapulting you to a place they have not been as long as anybody in North American team sports.”
BT sees Sunday’s game as a springboard for the Jets to assert themselves over their city rivals, and send them on their way to ending the longest active playoff drought in American pro sports. With that in mind, and with Big Blue’s season on the line, the stakes have never been higher since that crippling loss in 2011 for Gang Green.
“This year, it feels different,” BT said. “This really could be the final stake in the heart of the Giants…if the Jets win, the Giants are done…it means so much this year.”
