The Jets have opened the 21-day practice window on Aaron Rodgers, marking the next step towards a potential return to play this season.
Rodgers, who was seen taking light dropbacks and throwing footballs on the practice, is cleared for “functional football activity,” just 11 weeks after undergoing surgery for a ruptured Achilles.
The news didn’t seem to inspire BT much, as he is no longer sure that Rodgers will make his return this season due to the Jets’ vanishing playoff hopes.
“I want to see Rodgers play this year,” BT said. “I’m probably a little less confident than I was before yesterday…but I no longer care about this Jets season. I’m not gonna lie.
“They’re 4-7. They have a chance to beat the Falcons, who are not that good…but if the Jets win this game, yeah, I’ll muster up, and then the Texans…at least I can get on the train of possibility. If they can win these next two at home, then you’re 6-7, then you play Miami and then the Commanders, and maybe you see Rodgers then.”
But BT doesn’t see that happening, and while he doesn’t doubt Rodgers being able to get himself ready for a return by Christmas Eve, he does strongly doubt Gang Green’s ability to make that game against the Commanders relevant.
“They’re not winning the next two,” BT said. “They can’t score.”
