BT not happy with 'negligent' decision by Jets to not dress Zach Wilson

Just moments after Brandon Tierney made it clear that Zach Wilson needed to play in Sunday’s season finale, Robert Saleh announced that Mike White would be the starter, and Joe Flacco would be the backup.

Needless to say, BT wasn’t too happy about it.

“What are we doing?” BT said. “What in the world are we doing?

“This is negligent on the part of the Jets. Of course there’s a great chance that Zach is gone next year. But the only thing that can happen if he plays is that he can play better and maybe change opinions in the building…if this kid is left home, we’re talking about unprecedented stuff in the NFL.”

BT says starting White is a mistake on two counts: one, the Jets should already know what they have in White by now, and two, if White balls out on Sunday, it could lead another team to pry him from New York and cost Gang Green a very solid backup.

“There’s nothing Mike White can do to motivate me or make me feel good about him being QB1 next season,” BT said. “Now QB2 is a different story. Love him as QB2.”

So, what does Wednesday’s decision mean for Wilson’s future with the Jets? BT says that question was answered with Saleh’s announcement, regardless of the continued vocal belief he expresses in Wilson’s potential.

“Zach is just ruined at this point,” BT said. “I don’t know how you can’t dress him and bring him. At least incentivize him in practice this week.

“All you need to know is, the Jets are absolutely done with Zach Wilson. I don’t think there’s any other way to frame this.”
