BT didn’t like what Woody Johnson had to say about Zach Wilson, taking a shot at the former Jets No. 2 pick by saying the team didn’t have a backup quarterback last season.
But BT still found it “refreshing” that an owner publicly showed his frustration with his team not succeeding and meeting expectations.
“I’m not saying Woody’s comments were great, but at least he said something that projected interest. Think about all the times owners don’t say anything,” BT said. “When owners say nothing is when my blood boils. When things go awry and you don’t hear a peep, I can’t stand it.”
Some owners can take the overly level-headed approach like Hal Steinbrenner, but BT likes Johnson showing some emotion and acting like he is as obsessed with winning as the fans are.
“When owners check out and don’t give us a pound of flesh,” BT said. “At least for a moment act like they care about the losing as much as we do.”
