While Sal ripped the Jets on Monday after their loss to the Dolphins, he added that he isn’t including Joe Douglas in his rant, only because Aaron Rodgers’ injury instantly derailed the team’s plan for the season.
But BT isn’t excluding Douglas from blame, adding that the general manager’s seat should be warming up.
“I’m giving them no pass,” BT said. “The inner disintegration of this team is so alarming that nobody should be safe. Joe, I love you, I really do like Joe Douglas. He has not assembled an offensive line worth spit. It’s awful. The plan and the acquiescing to Rodgers, Lazard a healthy scratch, Cobb can’t play, Turner is a turnstile, he stinks. Everything they have done this season has been embarrassingly inept.
“Rodgers would have covered up some of those holes for sure…but this is unspeakably bad.”
BT believed the Jets could still make the playoffs without Rodgers, and instead, they have crumbled, dropping to 4-7 while looking completely lifeless on offense. Despite the crown jewel acquisition of the offseason not lasting more than four snaps, BT says Douglas deserves blame for how the rest of the offense was constructed.
“They are pathetic,” BT said. “I didn’t expect a Super Bowl, but I didn’t expect to be dead by November….Joe Douglas, he gets a pass for the Rodgers stuff. He can’t control that. The other stuff? He ain’t getting a pass from me anymore.”
