BT: Robert Saleh showing signs that he is changing for the better
After hearing Robert Saleh’s interview with Boomer and Gio on Tuesday, Brandon Tierney is feeling a little more hopeful about the Jets head coach as he enters his fourth season.
“I hope what I heard today is the foreshadow of things to come,” BT said. “I feel like Robert Saleh this morning, for the first time in about three years, is beginning to understand that it’s okay to be himself.
“I heard somebody, for the first time since he became head coach of the Jets, who was not trying to appease people.”
Saleh talked with Boomer and Gio about learning from mistakes last season, including how he handled talking to the media about the team’s struggles, and how he handled the Zach Wilson conundrum. BT was critical of Saleh’s performance last season, but wonders if what he heard on Tuesday is a sign of change that could lead to Saleh being a more effective head coach.
“I’m thinking that it could be the start of something…it was a very raw assessment of what he’s done wrong and ownership of some mistakes that he’s made,” BT said.
“On the lowest level, it gives me hope that Robert Saleh can change in year four.”
