BT has seen some pushback on the Jets potentially taking tight end Brock Bowers with the tenth overall pick in next week’s draft, but he believes the Georgia product would present a solution for both the present and future, and would be well worth it at No. 10.
“This is the perfect move,” BT said “If the Jets walk away a week from today with tight end Brock Bowers…it helps Rodgers, and also helps the next young quarterback the Jets decide to get.”
Gang Green has tight end options on the roster already in Jeremy Ruckert and Tyler Conklin, but BT says Bowers would be another legit receiving threat for Aaron Rodgers, both on short routes and down the field, and would be a big boost to the Jets offense immediately.
That level of promise and production is worthy of a top-10 pick if BT was in Joe Douglas’ office.
“It’s a move for today, and it’s a move for tomorrow,” BT said. “I don’t get the pushback on picking a tight end like this kid.”
