BT: Upcoming season will be 'revenge tour' for Aaron Rodgers

Sal has his questions about Aaron Rodgers heading into the 2024 season, wondering if the 40-year-old will be able to come back from season-ending Achilles surgery and get back to the player he hasn’t been in three years.

BT believes Rodgers can, and says a healthy version of the Jets quarterback would mean that it could be one of the more memorable seasons by a Jets QB.

“I believe it’s the Aaron Rodgers revenge tour that is going to be one hell of a fun show to watch,” BT said. “What worries me is the head coach.
I’m not worried about Rodgers.”

Sal pointed to the 12 interceptions that Rodgers threw in his last healthy season, an underwhelming one with the Packers in 2022. BT would sign up for that amount of picks if it meant that Rodgers was throwing 26 touchdowns like he also did in that 2022 campaign.

“If he throws 12 [interceptions] this year, the Jets really might win the Super Bowl,” BT said. “That’s the point. If you get the 25, 26, 28 touchdowns with great defense, I’d probably sign up for 12 picks right now.”

BT has his concerns about the coaching staff, but not about Rodgers. He believes the roster is a top five in the league, and sees Rodgers being a key cog in the Jets ending their playoff drought, regardless of whether the head coach can improve.

“You either win because of [the head coach], like Bill Belichick or Bill Parcells…and then there are coaches that you win in spite of,” BT said. “If the Jets win this year, they are going to win in spite of their head coach. I don’t love that recipe and that feeling coming into a season, but given their roster, I think they can.

“As long as Rodgers is the quarterback - and I know this sounds insane - I don’t think it matters.”
