After watching Thursday’s NFL season opener, C-Mac found himself wondering if anyone will be able to stop Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs from winning a third straight Super Bowl title.
“I’m wondering, who the hell is gonna...step up and [beat the Chiefs]?” C-Mac said. “I no longer have any faith - and I know it’s Week 1 - Lamar Jackson cannot do it. Josh Allen can’t do it. So, who is gonna step up and beat this Chiefs team?”
For C-Mac, the answer lies in Florham Park.
“I’ll tell you who,” C-Mac said. “As we get ready to start this season...a New York Jet team led by one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.”
C-Mac believes Aaron Rodgers, a revamped offensive line, and a stout defense can be enough to dethrone the Chiefs and stop a potential three-peat, and he doesn’t see any other AFC team being capable of doing it, so the Jets are the only hope.
“With a defense that’s as loaded as any in this league. With a defensive backfield good enough. With a defensive line, even with Haason Reddick holding out, is good enough to get after Mahomes,” C-Mac said. “This is the year for the Jets to step up and be that team. I don’t trust Buffalo to do it. I don’t trust Miami to do it. I don’t trust Baltimore to do it.”
