C-Mac: Jets can win with Robert Saleh, fine with HC having little input on offense

As the Jets get ready for their most hyped season in recent memory, is Robert Saleh the thread that can be pulled and unravel all of it?

C-Mac says there are questions with the head coach, but he doesn’t believe the Jets can’t win with him, because he doesn’t see Saleh having much of an imprint on the offense.

“I don’t think he’s a bad head coach yet,” C-Mac said. “He might turn out to be a good head coach. I don’t know. But I don’t think he’s someone the Jets are gonna have to work hard to overcome.

“We don’t know what this coach is. But game planning the offense, I don’t know how much of a role he has in that. This is a Rodgers/Hackett offense.”

Saleh comes from a defensive background, and C-Mac doesn’t see the head coach needing to worry much about the operation of the offense, and that doesn’t make him a bad head coach. It makes him a smart one for focusing on his specialty, and letting more qualified minds handle their area of expertise.

“Defensive coaches still win. Motivators still win,” C-Mac said. “This offense is led by its offensive coordinator and it’s Hall of Fame quarterback. Second year in the system, didn’t lose a coordinator in the offseason, and didn’t lose any personnel on both sides of the ball.”
