C-Mac: Jets problems run much deeper than Aaron Rodgers

The Jets found a way to lose again on Sunday, as the Seahawks came back to win a game that saw Aaron Rodgers throw a historic pick-six while once again failing to orchestrate a game-tying or game-winning drive down the stretch.

Rodgers, who turns 41 today, heard plenty of criticism after the game as he continues to show his age, but Chris McMonigle says there were far more problems on Sunday than just the quarterback, who he felt moved better than he has perhaps all season.

“Aaron Rodgers looked as healthy, spry, and moving out of the pocket...hell, he was going out on reverses and throwing blocks!” C-Mac said. “But they brought him here to win football games...and they are 0-5 when they have a one-score game and an opportunity to tie or take the lead...0-for-5 with Aaron Rodgers and this offense. So yes, there is plenty of blame at the heels of the quarterback...but it is so much more than the quarterback.”

Discipline was again a disaster, as the Jets committed four penalties on the Seahawks’ game-winning drive, and committed eight total in the fourth quarter. Sure, Rodgers wasn’t great himself, missing throws and completing only 53.8 percent of his passes, but C-Mac says the problems run much deeper than the quarterback.

“This defense, the consistent penalties, there are so much more to this than Aaron Rodgers,” C-Mac said. “Yes, he’s at the forefront, but this team gives you the same amount of dysfunction....down the stretch of the game, they get three penalties on fourth down down the stretch...and then they cry about it in the postgame!

“I know we’re gonna talk about Aaron Rodgers, and rightfully so. But this whole team is just so dysfunctional, from the coaching to the defense, to everything. This was a game they had no business losing.”
