As the Jets seemingly unravel with the benching of Zach Wilson following another frustrating loss, C-Mac says Robert Saleh and Nathaniel Hackett aren’t going anywhere, because Aaron Rodgers has made it clear that the plan for Gang Green revolves around him.
“We can talk all day long about the job the coach has done…but none of these guys are going anywhere,” C-Mac said. “The offensive coordinator has been awful, the run game has been unimaginative…he’s going nowhere. Do you know why none of them are going nowhere? Because the leader of the franchise told you…this was not the plan. The plan was for him to play the games. We know this.
“It’s an absolute failure of a plan, but they are not going to move on from the plan as long as he lives and breathes.”
The Jets have made themselves into a Rodgers-centric universe, leading C-Mac to believe that ownership will keep this regime in place until he feels they had a chance to play out the original plan of Rodgers running the show on the field.
“They moved heaven and earth and formed a plan around Aaron Rodgers,” C-Mac said. “And until that plan dies on the vine or lives out to fruition, they are not changing the plan.”
